First off, I want to welcome Rebecca Weismann who has joined the Transport Team! Everyone will be seeing her post for help on future transports!
SSRR completed two transports this past weekend. Bella on Tuesday, and Lady this weekend.
Transport 1) Bella went to her new family in Fairhope AL on Tuesday. Brucie Blackburn fostered Bella - THANK YOU Brucie! Bella and her sister were rescued from a "breeder" that had to surrender them to animal control. They evidentally didn't get much attention and socialization because they didn't know what humane touch was. A big thanks goes out to Penny Webster who temporarily held onto the girls until we could place them into foster homes. Penny taught the girls that people brought love and good things. Both girls blossomed with Penny, and then in their foster homes. This was an easy transport, Brucie and the adopters met to transfer Bella. Here is part of a note they sent:
" She has already given me kisses which I treasure considering yesterday she ducked her head when I tried to pet her. Amazing how adaptable they are. I really believe she knows this is her forever home. Thanks so much for eveything. Pictures will be coming in the next few weeks as we get those candid shots.

Transport 2) Wow, what a transport this weekend! Lady joined her new family and they absolutely love her! Lady has been with SSRR since May 2008 and we are so excited that she found a new home. Kelly and Susan Sumner fostered Lady - THANK YOU so much!
Lady went from Greensboro NC to Colleyville TX (which is north of Dallas) in two days. As of 6:00 pm on Friday evening, we were still missing two legs, but I kept digging (I wasn't going to give up on this one). I picked up Meridian MS to Jackson MS at 7:30 pm (always the toughest to fill), and the other confirmed drivers in SC and NC said they would stretch their legs to fill the missing leg in South Carolina. Then, early on Saturday morning, Harry Williams called and picked up Charlotte NC to Greenville SC so Kelly didn't have to drive a 3 hour leg. The remainder of the weekend flew by before we knew it and Lady is with her new family.
Thanks to all the SSRR volunteers who drove in this transport! Without you, Lady would not have made it to her new family.
Below is an email from the adopters.

Subject: Re: Day 2 - Transport for Lady - Sunday - 3rd update
Dear Everyone
Lady made it to her forever home just fine. She settled in and
she is doing just fine. She has immediately brought us a whole
lot of sunshine. There are no words that can express the deepest
gratitude we feel for the work you all do in having brought her
home. It is like she was off on a long trip and just returned home.
Please know that she will be very well taken care of and we pray
that that will be for years to come. Once again may you all be
blessed from God and better yet, may you know when you are
and know how to take hold of those blessings.
Ni Ni & Mike
